30 Days – #21

Arizona is a pretty dry state.  Yet there are things that grow here that you wouldn’t expect in a “dry” state.  Moss for instance……

As you walk through the Dells you’ll find moss hidden here and there.  On the rocks, between the rocks, growing on some trees.  It’s everywhere!

Normally walking through the rock formations you’ll find very dry looking moss.  But after this monsoon season the moss looks great.  Lush, deep green, and clearly healthy.  How long that look will last is beyond my reckoning.  I guess it depends on whether or not the moisture will continue.

At some point I think I’ll re-shoot the “Emerald City” wall (a climbing spot).  It’s called Emerald City due to the amount of green on the rocks.  Moss and other stuff cover the wall and make the climbs look very green.  I don’t know how easy it would be to climb there, but I do know it makes for a pretty scene.
