The well prepared client……really prepared!

So, I just had to share this one with you, and I think readers will appreciate it!

Chris Marzonie popped by the gallery the other day with a few images for his upcoming show over at the Raven Cafe.  In addition to the photos he brought in, he also had one extra PSD file for me [...]

There’s something to be said about great relationships with great vendors

I just hung up the phone with Stephen over at Breathing Color. I had a few questions about Allure Rag and Optica One, and I figured a quick call would settle the direction I need to go in.
The call settled everything for me, and now I know what I need to do. We’re [...]

12×18 Gallery Wraps. They’re what’s “In” for 2010

That’s right, 12×18 gallery wraps seem to be the new “in” thing here at the gallery. I guess they’re the new trend for the new year.
How can I make such a claim? Simple. More than 65% of the canvases I’ve put out in the past 3 weeks have been 12×18’s. Clients [...]

Cut me a deal…..

Do you know how often I hear those words? Too often. Let’s talk about that.
Over the course of the past week I’ve had several new potential clients come in, call, and e-mail.  In each interaction the folks have at some point asked if I could give them a price break.  Struggling artist, bad [...]

Just one of those crazy weeks!

This has been the type of week I’ve been dreaming about.  Actually, the past few weeks have been amazing.
Yesterday I arrived at the gallery a little after 8:00 a.m.  I left the gallery close to 7:30 p.m.  Printing straight through the entire day.  Veneering canvases for well over an hour.  A constant flow of print [...]

Sure I print in all sizes

That’s the answer whenever I’m asked.
Proof?  Simple.  Pop by the gallery this Friday.  “Black Friday,” “4th Friday Artwalk,” the latest show, whatever you’d like to call it.
The requested image?  My White Pocket “S Curve” photo as a 36″ x 54″ wrap with mirrored edges.  It’s printing right now, and I’m bored waiting for it so [...]

Today is an “all canvas day”

Since 9 a.m. the printer has been running.  It’ll continue running until closing time.  Robert Jamason picked out his first round of canvases, so that’s what I’m running for the day.  5 16×24’s, 2 24×36’s, and a 20×24.

Gotta say, I enjoy running other people’s prints as much as I enjoy running my own.  The best [...]

The Glamour III Follow Up

This is a really quick follow up on my Glamour III testing.
It’s true, I over used the Glamour III this weekend.  I had a suspicion.  Additionally, I need a denser roller for the glamour III.  The rollers I use soak up a lot of the veneer.  That gets wasted in the roller.
Glamour III isn’t available [...]

A quick update on my Glamour III testing

Last week I received the newest veneer from Breathing Color.  Glamour III.  This morning I finally had the time to give it a whirl on one of my newest pieces, and on 3 of Allison Smith’s new canvases as well.
Normally I don’t experiment with client’s canvas, but Allison was on board with trying it out [...]

High Dynamic Range Canvas for HDR Photography? Yup, I offer that!

Months ago I’d written about Breathing Color’s new Lyve Canvas.  A higher dynamic range then their Chromata Canvas?  Yes, I tested it then, and I use it now.  Does it add additional pop to my personal HDR photography?  Yes again.
After writing about Lyve and using it I realized that I’ve totally dropped the ball on [...]
