30 Days in the Dells – #1

Richard Charpentier 30 Days in the Dells, Notes from Rich, Photography 2 Comments

After missing my posting yesterday I feel kind of bad.  Seriously, it’s tough to always blog on a daily basis.  But now I’m making a commitment for the month of September.

30 Days in the Dells.

What’s that all about?  Well, I haven’t been walking in the Dells enough lately.  And a big part of why I love Prescott so much is the Granite Dells.  Just an amazing place.

So, in order to get myself out more (no excuses) I’ve decided to do 30 days of new Granite Dells shots.  Sure, some people might think you can’t get 30 days of photos out of the Granite Dells.  But I’m certain you can.  Heck, I’ve been here a year and a half and I still enjoy exploring the rock formations!

Either morning or evening I’ll head into the Dells each day for at least one photo.  Other regular posts will still make it up here, but for the next month you’ll get to see a different take on the Dells each day.

Today’s photos are from the top of Thor’s Wall.  A great climbing spot, and a great spot to look over Watson Lake.

Wish me luck!

  1. I just got back from visiting my sister in Prescott and went kayaking on Watson Lake for the first time. I was intrigued by the scenery and did a bit of googling and came upon your sight. Gorgeous photography of Prescott…I’m especially intrigued by the Granite Dells. I saw Mike Young’s pictures that he took after the photo walk of the Dells — I was wondering from what location he took those pictures? Is there a special lookout that you go to? Thanks!

  2. I’m not sure exactly where Mike shot from. You can find many trails throughout the Granite Dells. There are paths deep into the Dells where climbers often go, myself included. In the main park you can walk in and out of the Dells. I think Mike went to one of the high points where you can park your car.

Glad you enjoyed the Dells. You can explore for days and never run out of interesting views!
