Thinking about clouds

Just one example of how stunning the sky can be here in AZ.

The past few days have been a little warm around here. Summer has shown up! And you won’t hear me complaining. We had (for AZ) a long and chilly winter. Things cooled off last October and dragged out into April. Of course, I got snowed on only a few weeks ago up at White Pocket……

Today, it seems we’re in a cooling trend.  Into the 70’s today, that’s what the weather service says.  And there’s a breeze….and I’m in shorts and a short sleeved shirt.  Ah, chilly when I go outside, but tolerable.  🙂

And while I looked at the upcoming forecast I found myself thinking about clouds.  Monsoonal clouds.  They’ll be here soon enough.

Apparently we’ll be getting some weather this weekend.  The cute little thunder cloud symbols along with the lightening symbols showed up on my Dashboard widgets this morning (Apple speak there folks).  So maybe, just maybe, I’ll have some new and exciting skies to share with you when the weekend is done!  🙂

If you’ve never been to Arizona, you probably don’t understand how dramatic monsoons can be.  And if you have, you know what I’m talking about.  So here’s crossing my fingers that we’ll have an amazing monsoon season….. Plus we can always use the water!

  1. Being in Florida – summer is also in full gear. One thing that I never noticed until this year is the amazing colors and dramatic cloud formations that roll in around 4:00. Also, the sunsets have been incredible. I’m in the process of shooting a series of just clouds.

FYI – the cloud formations over the Everglades can be breathtaking.
