A night with the long lens

Last night I went over to Watson Lake….again.  I have a photo shoot in mind in the riparian preserve and I wanted to go scouting.  Got a model in mind too.  Actually, I might need one or two more models but we’ll see.  Got a series idea you see…….

While out scouting we had another great sunset.  Beautiful colors!  So I took a few more images (of course, that’s what I do).  I brought the 5D with me and only one lens.  The 70-200mm IS L series.  It’s so darned sharp!

Lately I’ve been making myself use only one lens for the day.  Yesterday was the 70-200mm.  The day before?  The 100-22mm.  Several days ago?  The 24-70mm f/2.8.  Using only one lens for the day makes you work a little harder, but also helps you to learn what you can and can’t do with a lens.

So, what did I get last night???

Shortly after sunset. Was getting pretty dark!

I love showing people that Arizona is green (in some places)

A heavier handed HDR just for kicks!
