Today we spent a good part of the day visiting Fort Bowie Historic site, about 22 miles from the Chiricahua National Monument.  Another great day of hiking, and a mediocre day of photography.  Yes, there was plenty to photograph, but the sky was a flat hyper blue sky.  Oh I know, I like clouds way too much.

We’re feeling extremely lucky to have visited the National Monument, and the surrounding National Forest.  This is yet another hidden gem that fails to pop up on travelers radar.  Our 1.5 mile hike into the Fort Bowie site today demonstrated very clearly to me the fact that this area doesn’t see as many visitors as it should.  We had the trail to ourselves the whole way in, and only met up with a few other visitors all day.  Fantastic!

The entire area is well worth a visit.  And next week I’ll be publishing the first of 3 articles on Living In Tin, so be sure to check in there.  There’s a lot RV’ers need to know about the area, and where to camp with bigger rigs is something we’ll be covering in the series.

And now, what you’ve been waiting for…..  A quick teaser video from Chiricahua National Monument!
