Things are looking brighter

KOA Refugee

Years ago I heard a song by the Trailer Park Troubadours entitled “KOA Refugee.”  It’s a fun little song.  And yes, it’s on my IPod.  Now and again I’ll play it while rolling the Airstream from point a to point b.

KOA’s are not a regular stop for me.  But sometimes when you need a one night stay somewhere they serve.  And with weather rolling in that threatened to get the washes going, we decided to pull up stakes from our “Ultimate Boondock” site and get to a park for the evening.

Hence the KOA.

Tomorrow we’ve got reservations elsewhere.  And it will be a good thing too.  This park is super tightly packed, the greeting we received was less then friendly, “You got a reservation,” and everything is extra.  While propane is $2.50 a gallon in Prescott, it’s $4.50 a gallon here.  Ugh.

On the plus side, 4G LTE service here, so we didn’t have to upgrade to get on the WiFi system.  So there’s the positive part.  Glad to have hookups again, and I just took the longest & hottest shower possible in the Airstream.  I’m clean and presentable now!

Well, off to read the 100+ e-mails I’ve missed in the last two days.  It’s like I’m back in network engineering with the number of e-mails I get!

Oh, and yes…..  there are photos and a video forthcoming.  But one thing at a time.  Remember, I just showered…….

  1. Ahhh yes. Love the song. We saw Antsy last weekend but he didn’t perform it. It holds special meaning to me since I actually lived in a KOA for 8 years.
