The Pan Mass Challenge Riders at Manchaug Pond

Richard Charpentier Notes from Rich, Photography Leave a Comment

This morning I was up at 5 a.m. getting cameras ready.  2 Go Pros and one 7D with a 200mm lens.  I knew the Pan Mass Challenge cyclists would be coming through early in the day (between 6 and 6:30).  I always enjoy photographing cyclists, and the PMC supports a great cause.  So yeah, get up super early!

The first riders rolled through at 6:10 a.m.  Pretty good!  What was really cool was the large pack of riders just a few minutes behind the front runners.  And then the steady stream of riders for over an hour!  Talk about a lot of bikes on the road.

Big groups, small groups....they were all riding by this morning on Manchaug Pond

The riders were glad to see our little cheering section on Manchaug Pond.  A cow bell, clapping, bike bells ringing…..  Even while it was raining on riders and fans alike!  A fun morning to be sure!

Now I’ve got hundreds of frames to sort through, 2 Go Pros worth of video to check out, and I should be packing to get ready to leave tomorrow.  Of course, I’ll work on the images first, that’s how I am!  You’ll probably see a quick video post a little later in the day, so check back in!
