Last night’s Artwalk could have been a disaster. All day I worried that things would not go well. It isn’t that we weren’t prepared, the gallery looked great, David’s new works were fantastic…….but there was a cloud looming. Literally, a real cloud. You know, with rain inside it? Yeah, it rained a lot yesterday.
At 5:00 p.m. we were still getting drizzle and bursts of heavier rain. Who the heck would want to be out in the rain walking around? Not me. Well, if I had my trusty umbrella it would be cool. But I think you get the idea.
As the evening progressed the rain tapered off. Our musician for the night, Don Cheek, set up outside in a dry spot and he remained dry for the night. Great job Don! We all enjoyed your playing!
With the rain withdrawing we actually did get quite a crowd. At times it was standing room only in the gallery once again. That’s hard to do, sizable space and all, but we’ve packed them in several times. I always feel a touch claustrophobic when it gets that crowded. But it’s managable!
The night went well. David’s new pieces were well received and I hope he enjoyed himself.
There’s the quick wrap. I’ve included many photos for those unable to attend……
