This is why you go slow coming out of the state ramp
If you’re coming from King’s Campground or the state ramp, this is why you pay attention to the channel markers. The old dam can clearly be seen a little below the water. If you want to keep your motor intact then I suggest not going anywhere other than the marked area!
You wouldn’t believe the number of boats I heard hitting the dam when I was a child. You’d hear them cooking along, Vrrrrrrrmmmmmmm, and then a big Booooowwwwwww as they hit the dam and the motors would come up and out of the water!
