Lazy Photographers Don’t Prosper

For weeks now Ian’s been bugging me for a new shot of Whiskey Row.  I haven’t done “the row” in a while.  So, the other morning I grabbed the camera and headed out.  There were even some clouds.  Very cool!

The timestamp on this image is 7:58 a.m.  That’s what the camera said.  And as you can see, cars have already filled in along the row.  Somebody didn’t get up early enough…… Lazy Photographer!

Along Whiskey Row the reality is you’re almost always going to have cars.  Cars driving thru, cars parked, cars making U-Turns, and Cars from that cute movie……

If you really want a shot at showing Whiskey Row only you’ve gotta get up pretty early in the morning.  Around 6 a.m. you’ve got a chance.  In the case of my good photos along the Row, they took place between 6 and 6:20 a.m.  After that?  Cars.

Clearly if I want to do a little more with the Row I’m going to need to get up just a little earlier!  No more lazy photographer excuses.

  1. 30 years from now, those cars will be antiques and the picture will be awesome. Or you could wait for an antique car show to come to town.
