The 4th Fizzled….

On Thursday we had to move the Airstream.  Another set of campers had booked our site way in advance for the 4th of July weekend.  So we spent the morning putting things away, getting ready to move, and finding out that the valve for the black tank was stuck open………

Several hours of messing around, a set of gloves, and a black water tank rinsing device and we were good to go.  Blackwater…….Bleh!

The new spot for the Airstream is pretty nice.  Site number 24.  No 30 amp here though, so no Air Conditioner!  Just the fans.  And Thursday was super hot, super humid, super sticky……nasty enough to where I found myself swimming in the lake for over an hour just to cool off!

One section of the lake was lit up good!

An outdoor movie!

Our neighbors were showing “Planes Trains & Automobiles,” right up until it started pouring……

Thursday night we headed out to photograph the lighting of the shoreline.  It’s an annual event, and everybody lights their shoreline with a flare.  Unfortunately not everyone lit up this year.  Ah well, they didn’t miss too much, as that’s when the storm rolled in anyhow!

The 4th was a little wet

I’m still drying out after yesterday.  The area got a little extra water thanks to that tropical storm.  It poured from Thursday night through last night non stop.  Wet, wet, wet.  Needless to say, I didn’t hear any fireworks last night at all.  But that’s okay, I have a feeling things will be going on this weekend!

Here’s one little tidbit of information for those of you thinking about full timing in an Airstream or other RV.  It’s easier to full time in places that are DRY.  Wet places make it feel sticky and wet inside the Airstream 24×7.  Just a thought.
