A Random Post For a Random Tuesday

Writing from the gallery once again.  It seems my normal hours now start at about 7:30 a.m. here and run through 5 p.m.  Not bad, just a busy printer.  What’s on schedule today?  Plenty.

  • Finishing another color match for George Molnar.  It’s one of his older pieces called “New Friend.”  We’re also talking about 7 addition canvases running approximately 38×54 inches each.  Whew!
  • Printing a 28×72″ piece for Ian Russell.
  • Going through color matches of 4 pieces with a new client, Delores.  You should see her paintings.  The moment I saw a specific set I asked her if she was into Fractals.  Apparently I’m the first person in her 50 year painting career who recognized that some of her paintings started out with Fractals.  Wow!
  • Meeting with another new photo client who needs to get 20 16×24″ canvases done this week.  All B&W prints too.  That should be interesting!

That doesn’t even factor in the referral clients who keep showing up daily.  That’s just what’s on the agenda before the day gets started.  Currently I’m putting the finishing touches on Ian’s big print, then I’ll fire it off to the printer.  This one will take a while!

Switching gears…..the other day Jason from Canon Blogger commented on my kayaking photos from Watson Lake.  And I agreed with him, I had popped up images with the kayak in every one.  So I thought I’d share a few images “sans kayak.”  Hope you enjoy them.

By the way, this blog post was started first thing in the morning.  I had some ideas for the post but it’s now 2:22 p.m. and I’ve got 2 more clients showing up shortly.  So, guess whatever it was I wanted to write about this morning was lost in the busy day.  🙂

  1. Cool! I like both – it’s hard to say which versions I like better, but nice to see both perspectives. How’d you fix these up? Clone stamp tool? Content aware fill? Good old fashioned crop tool?
