A Snowy Morning in the Granite Dells

This morning I woke up at 4:00 a.m. Something was off. There were sounds on the Airstream. Odd sounds. Almost as if something was rubbing along the exterior walls of the Airstream…….
I sat in bed listening and wondering.  What could it be?  Javalinas rubbing on the trailer?  No.  A mountain lion [...]

You know that storm they’ve been talking about…..?

Well, it finally arrived. Of course, we were hearing all week that it was going to storm for the whole week…..
Yesterday was a beautiful day with blue skies. Ian hid out at the gallery instead of doing masonry work…..the forecasters burned him pretty good.  No difference when it comes to weather reports, they [...]

What happens when a bored photographer plays with wireless flash on a Saturday Night

Yes, Saturday nights are not always exciting around the Airstream Chronicles. Often you’ll find me in the Airstream relaxing. A movie, some anime, maybe an audio book……  Maybe it’s a sign of age, maybe it means I need a rest, or maybe I’m just not creative enough to figure out something better to [...]

White Pocket: Day three of the adventure

Ah, so now we’ve come to it.  White Pocket.  The driving force behind this recent trip.
After first seeing images of White Pocket I knew I had to go there.  The “brain rocks,” the strange banding, the completely surreal landscape.  How could anyone who has seen images of White Pocket possibly not want to go there?  [...]

A trip to the Grand Escalante Staircase

Home again, home again.  And a day early to boot.  Not happy about that part, but there it is.
Thursday morning I set off with the Airstream in tow to points unknown.  I had a few ideas in mind and decided to wing it like I used to when traveling the country.  Set a direction and [...]

Throw a dart at a map of the southwest……

You might know where I’m heading before I do!
With the Coyote Buttes trip mere weeks away I’m planning another trip.  Actually, I’m not planning it really.  I’m just taking a trip starting tomorrow.  And honestly, I don’t know where I’ll be landing.
The Airstream hasn’t left Point of Rocks since the last Anza Borrego trip.  Back [...]

The other side of Prescott

As any reader of this blog knows, I am a huge fan of Prescott.  I really do enjoy this town and what it has to offer.  Cute downtown, great recreation, the Granite Dells, Granite Mountain, Lynx Lake, etc, etc, etc.  You’ve heard me sing the praises of Prescott for a long time now.  And the [...]

A few updates from the Airstream

Wow, 2 podcasts in one week.  And yes, I know, still not as clean as the Digital RV Podcast.  Give me a little time, I’m rusty.
So, beyond playing with videos and tutorials again, what else is going on around the “silver twinkie” (that’s code for Airstream)?  Here’s what’s going on this week.

July 18th is the [...]

An Airstream Rally at Point of Rocks

Thursday the Airstreams really started rolling in.  A local AZ chapter rally took place over the weekend, and it was a pretty interesting one!
22 Airstreams arrived for the weekend’s rally.  6 Class A’s that I counted.  That’s a lot of Class A Airstreams.  There were also new and old trailers along with the bigger versions.  [...]

An Airstream Photowalk

May 14th through the 18th Airstreams will dot the Point of Rocks RV Park.  Of course, several Airstreamers are here right now, but next week there will be many more!
The other month I was contacted by one of the upcoming rally organizers.  He popped by the Airstream just as I was getting ready to shovel [...]
