Help make the RV’ers Guide to the National Monuments of the Southwest a reality

Today we’re sitting tight in Lawrenceburg, TN.  We’ll be spending the day working on project updates for the Kickstarter we launched a few weeks ago.  We’re down to 23 days remaining, and we really want to get the word out.  We’ll be working on all of our social media links today, and an update video.

I wanted to appeal to our readership here today about the project.  We need your help getting the word out.  And we need your support.  Honestly, if every regular reader of this site donated $1 we would actually exceed our goal.  That’s how many folks read the site, and I keep up with the unique addresses that visit here and our monthly numbers.

Over the years we’ve shared Photoshop tips, tutorials, podcasts of unique places, campground reviews and more.  That’s a lot of free information and time put into the posts.  And we’ve never done a fundraiser like this, and never pestered our readership to back something like this.  But now we are asking, and I for one don’t think it’s out of line.

During 2013 the Airstream Chronicles was pretty quiet while I contracted in WV.  When I announced that the chronicles would be coming back I literally received hundreds of private e-mails about how happy folks were to have the site busy again.  But in order to keep the site going and useful information coming out of it we still need to earn a living.  Honestly after launching this project I’ve been a little surprised, given the die hard readers here I thought I’d see hundreds of small donations at least.

Our experiences in National Monuments have been very different from the National Parks...read no crowds.

So, this will be the only “plea” for support.  We’ll keep updating the progress here and there, and we’ll continue updating from the road as we make our way back to Cortez Colorado where we plan to start the project.  If this fails, well then it fails.  But I know we can actually make this happen, and create a great guide for adventurous RV’ers and campers.

Tweet the project, Facebook the project, Tumble it, Link it in, whatever it takes.  If a guy making potato salad as a joke can go viral, then so can we!
