The Airstream’s month long mission

Almost sounds like some type of Star Trek intro….but it’s not.

Over the next month the little tin trailer will be a rocking design studio.  Web work, photography, video….we’ll be covering it all.  And all this work will come together in a new website for a local conservation group here in MA.  This project should be a lot of fun…….and a lot of work if yesterday was any indicator.  4 hours of video work which mostly worked out to be 85% junk, 4 hours of web work laying out usable categories, and lots of sorting through images last night.  Yup, some work ahead to be sure.

A sun turtle kicking back and enjoying…..the sun of course.

This turtle jumped off his log when we first showed up, but then realized we were cool and moved back to its spot.

Of course, some of the work will be extremely fun.  Yesterday for instance I went out in search of a Sun Turtle or two.  Instead I found 4 sitting together in a cove.  I’ll be returning today with the 200mm and zoom doubler with the 7D.  I want to get as close into these critters as possible.

When I was young I always enjoyed watching these turtles.  Pull into any cove on the lake that has a log or two exposed above water and you’ll find turtles.  Watching them swim is pretty cool too.  But now with my camera gear I’m hoping to get some “amazing” images.  Turtles, frogs, lizards, birds (like the heron that’s been tormenting me), fish…..Hoping to capture it all!

The Airstream will be the hub of this month’s activity.  Go out and shoot…return to the Airstream for selection and post processing.  Web work to be done….in the Airstream.  It is a fantastic portable studio!  Of course, it would be nice if it was a little larger!
