Today is officially the last day of my 30’s. Tomorrow I’ll be 40 years old. Woah!
This past decade has been all over the place. Honestly, I’m looking forward to the next one. Better times ahead!
My 30’s started out in Sandown, NH. A spouse, a house, puppies, a parrot, my Jeep, cold winters, lots of black flies and mosquitoes, and so much more. Oak beams popping under snow load, fun with snow blowers, sitting by the wood stove on cold winter days, and traveling when I could. It was a comfortable life. And that apple cart got knocked over….
In 05′ I got really sick. Kind of kicked my 30’s squarely in the teeth. And it took until 2010 to find the resolution to the illness. Looking back at it 05-07 were the totally lost years. You never want to say that about a time in your life, but it is true.
Then I landed here in Prescott. And even though I was still under the weather I started a very new life. Quite the struggle over the past few years building a business from the ground up. But you know what? It’s starting to work.
So, here I sit on the edge of 40. My business is growing. My health has returned. And I really feel like I’m on the verge of something.
40? Bring it. May this be my best decade yet! Stay tuned. Watch R.L. Charpentier Photography & Waking Dream Studio grow! And with luck we’ll see some more travel with the Airstream again. Maybe commercial work on the road? Maybe destination weddings? Maybe something I haven’t even considered yet!

Happy Birthday Richard!!!!!! The 40’s are wonderous! Enjoy! We Love you!
I’ve followed you from the beginning… “ups and downs” is right. Congrats on being able to grow a business against the grain of a bad economy. That says a lot about your expertise. Good luck, Richard… and thanks for keeping up the blog.
