How quickly a year passes

A year ago today was the grand re-opening of the Ian Russell Gallery and R.L. Charpentier photography.  That’s right, one year ago today we finished the move to Whiskey Row in Prescott Arizona.  And oh what a year it has been!

This time last year I was ready to throw in the towel.  The white flag was at the ready and I thought I’d be wrapping up my business quickly.  Glad to say what I was thinking was wrong, and February 11th of 2011 was the rebirth of my business.

Things didn’t change just with a move mind you.  I’ve changed a lot over the past year.  A good part of the year was spent really learning how to price properly so I could actually pay myself.  I also took the big step of offering portrait work for individuals and families, and that really helped push the business in the right direction.  But of course, it all started going the right way after our move!

A small private celebration is being held here at the gallery tonight!  It should be fun!

The next time you’re on the Row be sure to stop in.  You can’t miss the big sign on the building!
