I’ve got one year to prepare……

Richard Charpentier Notes from Rich 7 Comments

While I'm not weathered yet, it's only a matter of time.....

That’s right.  Today I hit the big 39!  Eeek!  Only a year away from……well, you know.

Seeing Ian on a daily basis tells me what I have to look forward to.  Since his funeral for his 30’s things have taken a rapid down turn.  He’s breaking down in every way, and it’s painful to watch.  And from what Jantina has told me dementia is setting in…….and apparently the knees aren’t the first thing to go……  🙂

So, I’ve got an entire year to get myself ready.  I’ve already ordered the “Hover-Round” catalog, and I’ll be looking into the “Just for men” product line as the gray is already hitting the beard.  It’s only a matter of time…….  I’m thinking I should go ahead and get a Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt to go with the hover-round.  Maybe a mildly steamed carrot for lunch today……

If you haven’t read the customer reviews on the Three Wolf Moon T-shirt I think it’s time you did.

Guess it’s time to live it up.  39 years on this planet eh?  I could stand another 39!

  1. Richard, that is the funniest thing I have ever read, I can’t wait for your comment after you recieve your three wolf moon shirt next year. The three wolf moon shirt should be The Christmas present of 2010!

  2. You youngsters are so cheeky, thinkin’ this “gettin’ old” thing is not so hot. Well, back in my day, it was an honor to be among the well-regarded thirties+10.

Of course that was only two years ago, so….

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🙂

  3. I always felt we compute our age incorrectly. We omit the 9 months of gestation. So you are much closer to 40 🙂

Don’t complain about aging, Rich. My grandfather, who lived to be 100 years old, used to say “sure bets the alternative”.
BTW my son is a year younger than you, making me … well, a generation older.

    Happy Birthday!

Thanks Aimee’. I was being very tongue and cheek. 🙂

    LOL Jason!

It was a quiet day Phyllis. I’m fine with quiet.

I agree with you Dagny. I think the 9 months added is appropriate. 🙂 And of course, I was being very tongue and cheek with this post, and having fun with a few shots at Ian for good measure!

  5. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY RICHARD! DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE FORTIES, THAT’S WHEN YOU REALLY START TO COOK! LOVE YOU!

  6. Happy belated birthday, Rich. Don’t worry about 39 or 40 – they will be fine. Looking on the positive side, when you get to the stage I’m at (turning 44 next week) you start forgetting what all the fuss is about. Actually, you start forgetting a lot of things but that’s another blog post…
