Vintage Airstream

One of the vintage Airstreams at this weekend’s rally.

Yesterday the WBCCI rally wrapped up here at Point of Rocks.  One shiny Airstream after another rolled out of the park.  Sad to see them go.

The weekend was not the best for the rally.  Cold temperatures, lots of rain, and I heard about snow at higher elevations in the area.  I felt bad for the folks who attended because the weather really didn’t cooperate.  That seems to happen a lot on event weekends in Prescott.

When I first landed in Prescott I remember heading into town on May 5th of 2007.  As I was driving into town, what did I see?  Snow on my windshield.  Several days later I was running around in shorts.  The weather during the Spring is wonky.  You could be cooking one day and freezing the next.  There’s something about being at higher elevation you know.

While the WBCCI rally may have had some bad weather, it seemed that everyone had a good time.  I strolled over several times to visit with everyone, and they seemed happy.  If you’re from Arizona you know, take all the rain you can get!

Of course, as everyone left to head home the weather cleared and it warmed up.  Saturday we ran the heat during the day, and yesterday afternoon the AC.  Ah Prescott…..

As always, the vintage Airstreams catch my attention every time.  This year there were two very well kept vintage Airstreams that came to the rally.  I can only imagine the work involved to get “that shine.”  My Airstream still needs a bath…..
